The best part of being a custom home builder is the ability to work on distinctly different home design styles at the same time. It’s this variety that makes building custom homes so exciting.
We pride ourselves on our ability to design and build just about anything our clients can envision, whether they prefer contemporary or traditional design.
When properly designed, every element within a custom-designed home will reflect and reinforce the style of the homeowner and add to the character of the home.
For most families, the kitchen is the nerve center within a home and as such, plays a major role in shaping the aesthetic of the home. Within the kitchen, appliances are one of the items that have the most impact on the character of that space. Wolf & SubZero are our “go to” appliances, but another important item to consider is the range hood.
Because range hoods are a key focal point when walking into the kitchen, it’s important to select a style that reinforces the home’s distinct style.
To illustrate this point, take a look at the two range hood photos below. They show the diversity of two of the projects we are currently working on. Although they were selected after we designed the each of the homes, their unique characteristics are such that we could have designed the homes around them!
The first hood will be installed in a new custom home we are building, located in the equestrian community of Citrus Green in Odessa. Based on the photo alone, you can likely guess that the home is a traditional design.
The Craftsman Range Hood is a copper/wood design, handcrafted in the U.S.A. with Alaskan copper buttons and rivets. The combination of copper and wood are characteristics that help strengthen the traditional style we are trying to achieve.
As you can see below, the second hood has a completely different aesthetic than the first. We will be installing this hood into a luxury waterfront renovation located on Davis Islands in Tampa. Our homeowners are going for an ultra-modern, contemporary look in their home, complete with sleek cabinetry, backlit granite, custom steel staircases and glass throughout. The clean lines of this hood, along with the combination of glass and stainless steel help reinforce the ultra-modern look we are trying to achieve throughout this particular home.
