As the owner of a custom home building company, I’m obsessed with figuring out how to build the homes we build better.
Better than the last time, better than the industry standard, and better than I see any other Tampa home builder do it.
My staff and I live and die by the concept of continual improvement; we work on it daily.
When you approach the process of building a new home from this perspective good things start to happen.
When it comes to the complicated process of building a custom home, there are a multitude of ways to improve and do it better, but it doesn’t happen by accident.
It comes by always asking yourself, “Is there a way we can do this better?”
One example of this can be found on one of our new construction projects in Odessa. We decided to add three courses of welded wire reinforcement ladders into our stem wall. Welded wire reinforcement ladders are frequently seen on commercial projects, however you rarely see them on custom homes.
Adding the ladder joint reinforcements into the masonry joints of your block walls reduces cracking, promotes performance and elasticity of masonry walls, and enhances resistance to water penetration.
This added step simply makes the walls better. And better, after all, is what we set out to achieve with each new home we build.
